Aurora Suhonen is a dance artist and photographer from Kuopio, Finland
She studied Dance pedagogics in Savonia University of Applied Sciences (2022). She also studied contemporary dance in University of Stavanger in 2021 via exchange program.
She is currently working as a dancer in Dance Theatre Minimi- Kuopio and as a freelance dance-artist, teacher and photographer in different work environments.
As a dancer and an artist Aurora is a curious dreamer, mover and thinker. She wants to explore different ways to influence through her works as a dancer and a photographer and to create with emphasis on imagination, nature, interdisciplinarity and bodily working.

Aurora Suhonen is a dance artist and a photographer based in Kuopio, Finland. She studied dance in Savonia University of Applied Sciences and has a bachelor degree in dance pedagogy (BA 240 ects). She completed part of her studies also in University of Stavanger, Norway in a bachelor of dance programme.
She has a comprehensive background in contemporary dance and has been focusing on floorwork, partnering, and acrobatics in her work. She also has experience on street dance, ballet, jazzdance and gymnastics.
Her working methods as a dance artist also include improvisation, contact improvisation, somatic practices and different task based scores. She is interested to explore and combine these methods with playfulness, imagination and virtuosic movement. Currently Aurora is interested in human-nature relationship, biosentric & posthuman ideologies, interdiscplinarity collaborations and producing dancefilms. She is also interested in satire as an art style.
As a teacher and a dancer Aurora is very open and curious. The passion to learn also reflects on her students. She wants to share her knowledge and learn from others. Working and exploring together with others feeds her creativity. Her motivation to constantly evolve and learn drives her forward.
In her freetime Aurora enjoys sunrises, morning swims, snowboarding, hiking and starting books & knitworks which she won't finish.
